Life is never perfect.
Like the crippled man holding a walking stick
Like the raggedy beggar on the street
Begging for something to eat
And finding an empty doorstep to sleep
Or the homeless pup in the raging storm
Pouring abusing torrents of rain
Mercilessly throwing it around like a rag doll
But neither was anybody else’s
Nobody’s life is a bed of roses
A life without a single roadblock
Or dangerous sharp rocks
A life that you can easily glide through
There’s always a flaw
A trap
A black vortex
A bottomless pit
That takes you eternity to scramble up
A stone in your path
That makes you trip
But overtime, you learn
Courage to get back on your feet
After the fall that leaves you broken
Never give up
And don’t be afraid to face the beast
Stay strong
You’ve got to persevere
Cause it gets better
Sunlight filtering through the canopies
And out of the darkness of the forest
Into the sun’s radiant rays
Blinding you in sweet brightness
Bathing the land in a golden glow
Reflecting in the calm lapping waters
Giving hope, faith
And what you’d found yourself,
The key to the lock
The rainbow after the storm,
Happiness.
