The thing everyone loves. Yet hate, because it tears up families. Politics. Quarrels. Fights. Pain. Heartbreaks. Arguments. Kind relatives suddenly turning into vicious hounds when money gets involved. Lawsuits.

Over the years of being a naive young person, growing up in a society with so many hidden double-edged swords, i realized something.

Money cannot buy everything.
But money can buy almost everything.

Money can buy joy.

So i wanted to join Taekwondo.
I have went for the first training, and hell, it was awesummm!
Butttt, to officially register, its twenty-five bucks with an additional seventy-five for the uniform.
I'm like fuck, it's so expensive like i can't even earn a hundred a day standing all day long rushing here and there to serve, carrying the bigass tray for pickup, and carrying the bigass tray again for clearing. If you do banquet you know what I mean.
If i were rich, it wouldn't have bothered me, I would grab the two blue precious fifties and hand them over without a second thought, and happily be able to attend trainings.

Now, before you think imma shallow person, I once used to hate people who thought money was everything.
It was when I realized why, why do they love money so much, did i understand.
Sometimes, while fighting your demons, you become too much like them.

Let me give you another example.
You've had a bad day.
You want some Swensens to make your day chill and bright again.
But its too expensive.
So you go home sulking.

But yeah, attitude does matter too.

Alternatively, you could get the one dollar icecream wrapped in the rainbow bread from the roadside uncle.
But hell, one dollar is money too.

You need money to buy almost everything, I realized.
Unless you're a caveman.

Money could take away stress.

Like my mom.
Stressed about how to pay the bills.

Like me.
Do i have enough for this month?
Should i still cancel my caller id to save five bucks?
My pay enough to cover meals anot ah?
That dress so nice leh but its like fifteen bucks leh, should i get it...?

but you know, be grateful for what you have.
Money is important, but its the root of evil.
Like what the hell, why the hell am i even writing this post.

Oh oh one more example.
Youre a sports enthusiast.
You love to cycle.
But a bike is too ex, so you decided to go without the bike, and just walk instead.
But you need money to get the sport shoes.
Ok so you decided not to get sport shoes.
You're going to wear sneakers.
But your sneakers spoil liao.
Forget it, i wont even get far in slippers.
